Colorado vape laws to know before you buy start with age: you have to be 21, the state's minimum since July 14, 2020 (HB20-1001), and shops have to check the photo ID of anyone who looks under 50.

Colorado has no statewide flavor ban, but 15 cities, towns and counties restrict flavored tobacco or vapes: Aspen, Boulder (vapes only), Breckenridge, Carbondale, Denver, Dillon, Eagle, Edgewater, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Golden, Keystone (vapes only), Pitkin County (outside its towns), Silverthorne and Snowmass Village, according to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids list from May 2026. Denver's ban, in force since January 1, 2026, covers menthol too.

Colorado's nicotine products tax is 56 percent of the maker's list price in 2026 and rises to 62 percent on July 1, 2027; it's built into the shelf price, and sales tax goes on top at the register (Colorado Department of Revenue). Colorado has no vape directory law, so unlike Pennsylvania or Iowa it doesn't limit shops to a state list of approved products. Only 48 e-cigarettes are authorized by the FDA, all from Glas, JUUL, Logic, NJOY and Vuse (FDA list); popular disposables such as Geek Bar, Raz and Lost Mary are not on it.
