The short answer

Gas stations and convenience stores, 7-Eleven included, sell vapes. Walgreens started selling them again in January 2026, after a six-year break. Walmart, Target and CVS don't sell vapes, and Amazon bans them from its site.

In Colorado, every store that sells vapes needs a state license and has to check the ID of anyone who looks under 50. Shipping vapes to consumers is banned, apart from delivery by licensed Colorado stores with a state permit. We list vape and smoke shops across Colorado, not gas stations.

Gas Stations That Sell Vapes Near Me

Gas stations that sell vapes near you all need a Colorado state license, and the state posts the list, so you can check any store before you go. Since July 1, 2021, every store selling nicotine products, vapes included, has needed a state retailer license for each location under the Colorado tobacco code. The Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division offers a license search and a monthly spreadsheet. Its August 2026 report lists 4,507 licenses for stores that sell tobacco and nicotine products for use off the premises, from gas stations to grocery stores.

Each of those stores has to check a valid photo ID for anyone who looks under 50. In Denver, none can sell flavored vapes, menthol included: the city has enforced its ban at every retail store since January 1, 2026, according to the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment.

We leave gas stations out of our directory on purpose. When we built the Colorado lists, we left out 77 listings whose main business is something else, such as gas stations and convenience, liquor and grocery stores that carry vapes on the side. Gas Station Vapes: A Few Big Brands

Gas station vapes come mostly from a few big brands: in 2024, Vuse, JUUL and NJOY made up 57.5 percent of the vapes sold in US convenience stores, including those at gas stations, according to a study of Nielsen sales data led by Rutgers researchers and published in Tobacco Control. In the Mountain region, which includes Denver, the three made up about 68 percent. Most of the rest came from brands FDA has never authorized.

Two of the three belong to cigarette companies. Vuse is made by R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company, part of Reynolds American, the British American Tobacco unit that also owns R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. NJOY has belonged to Altria, the parent of cigarette maker Philip Morris USA, since June 1, 2023.

The law narrows the list too. All three brands have products on FDA's list of authorized vapes, which come from just five companies, and FDA says those 48 are the only vapes that may be lawfully sold. FDA also says it has sent more than 1,000 warning letters to stores and websites over unauthorized tobacco products.

Does 7-Eleven Sell Vapes?

7-Eleven sells vapes, and its own website has a category for e-cigarettes and vapes at participating stores (7-Eleven). In Colorado, 7-Eleven had 374 stores on the state's August 2026 list of licensed nicotine retailers.

In September 2025, the District of Columbia's attorney general announced that 7-Eleven would pay $1.2 million to settle claims that 16 of its stores near middle and high schools sold more than 7,500 vapes after the District banned vape sales near schools. Like any Colorado store, a 7-Eleven has to card anyone who looks under 50, and those in Denver can sell only tobacco-flavored vapes.

Does Walmart Sell Vapes?

Walmart doesn't sell vapes. In September 2019 it told store managers it would stop selling e-cigarettes at all Walmart and Sam's Club stores in the US, citing "growing federal, state and local regulatory complexity and uncertainty," CNBC reported. Walmart's marketplace rules, updated in December 2025, also bar outside sellers on walmart.com from listing vapes, vape pens and vape juice. We found no announcement reversing the store ban as of October 6, 2026. Walmart still sells tobacco at some locations, and 37 Colorado Walmart stores and fuel stations are on the state's license list.

Does Walgreens Sell Vapes?

Walgreens sells vapes again: it began putting them back on some store shelves in January 2026, Bloomberg reported, reversing the ban it announced in October 2019. A Walgreens spokesperson said the chain had added "compliant products" for adults, and Juul Labs said its products were in, or about to be in, around 6,000 of Walgreens' nearly 8,000 stores (CSP Daily News).

We couldn't confirm which Colorado stores carry vapes, so call ahead; 135 Colorado Walgreens stores hold state tobacco licenses. In Denver, the flavor ban limits Walgreens, like every store, to tobacco flavor.

Does CVS Sell Vapes?

CVS doesn't sell vapes, and it never has: in 2018 the company said it had never sold e-cigarettes or vaping devices in any CVS Pharmacy. It stopped selling all tobacco products in 2014, and its tobacco-free page says it is still the only national drug chain that doesn't sell tobacco.

Does Target Sell Vapes?

Target doesn't sell vapes or any other tobacco product. It stopped selling cigarettes in 1996, saying it cost too much to keep them away from minors (New York Times), and no Target store is on Colorado's August 2026 list of licensed nicotine retailers. A search of Target's website for e-cigarettes, with an Aurora store selected, found no matches on October 6, 2026.

Does Amazon Sell Vapes?

Amazon doesn't sell vapes: its seller rules ban e-cigarettes and all related accessories, whether or not they contain nicotine, along with refill liquids and replacement cartridges. Listings still slip through. In October 2024, Vermont's attorney general said third-party sellers had posted harmless-looking listings and swapped in vape products after Amazon approved them; Amazon paid $400,000 and agreed to tighten its controls. A vape listed on Amazon breaks Amazon's own rules, and shipping it to a Colorado home breaks state law.

Can You Buy Vapes Online?

You can't legally buy vapes online for delivery to a Colorado address unless the seller is a licensed Colorado store with a state delivery permit. State law bars anyone from shipping or delivering nicotine products, vapes included, straight to consumers. The one exception, under the state's retailer rules, works like this: the order has to come in to the store, the owner or an employee who is 21 or older has to deliver it and check a government photo ID, and it can't go to an event or to another licensed tobacco location. The permit costs $250 a year, and the August 2026 license list shows 102 of them.

Out-of-state websites can't legally ship vapes to Colorado. The Postal Service has banned mailing vapes since October 21, 2021, with narrow exceptions, and the federal PACT Act requires remote sellers to register, verify age and check ID at delivery (15 U.S.C. 376a). Our page on Colorado vape laws covers the rest of the state's rules.

Where to Buy Vapes in Colorado

Where to buy vapes in Colorado comes down to three choices: a vape or smoke shop, a gas station or other licensed store, or delivery from a licensed Colorado shop with a permit. Wherever you buy, the shelf price already includes the state's 56 percent nicotine tax, which distributors pay on the maker's list price (Colorado Department of Revenue), and sales tax comes on top at the register.
